PolyNome Speed Test charts showing stroke spacing and hit strength

SOUND FAMILIAR?

You put in the practice, but it is hard to tell whether your hands are getting faster or more even.

PolyNome Home with rudiments and practice resources

01

Give every stroke a purpose.

Explore the 40 Essential Rudiments with video demonstrations. Full, Down, Tap and Up Stroke Guides show the motion for each stroke as you play.

02

Measure what you play.

Run a microphone-based Speed Test to count the strokes you play in a set time. Use the results as a reference as you work on your technique.

03

Look beyond the total.

Inspect the recorded waveform, stroke spacing and hit strength. Compare speed with evenness and dynamics, so a higher number is only part of the picture.
