Claus is an internationally recognized drum educator. He contributes regularly to educational columns for Drums & Percussion (GER), Modern Drummer (USA), Drumscene (AUS), and Perkusista (POL).
Besides his private teaching, writing, travelling, and performing he works as an Associate Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Frankfurt and at the University of Popular Music, Manheim. He is the chairman of Percussion Creativ, the biggest German-speaking drum community in Europe. In South Korea, he was the first European drumset artist to be acknowledged as Distinguished Professor at Keimyung University; and is a Distinguished Expert at China’s oldest university, Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
With his latest book, OPEN-MINDED DRUMMING, he takes online education to a different level.
