Auto Voice Count is a new feature since version 2.2.0 (available with the Pro upgrade)

It’s a very powerful way of quickly adding a voice count to your patterns and it’s really easy to set up…

On the Main Screen

1. Make sure you can see the mixer on screen (hit the toggle mixer button if you don’t see it.)
2. Drag the mixer by swiping in the area above the faders until you can see the “Overlay Sounds” faders.
3. Bring up the fader volume of all the Overlay Sounds.
4. Make sure PolyNome is playing and tap the Change Sounds button.

1. Scroll to Voice Counting at the bottom.
2. Tap Auto Voice Count.
3. Tap the next item in the selector at the top.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all 16th and triplet sounds are set to Auto Voice Count

You should hear PolyNome counting all of the 16ths and triplets with a voice sound. It’ll sound like a mess because of the mix of 16ths and triplets, but you can then use the faders in the mixer to mute what you don’t want to hear.

Counting Bars

You can also use PolyNome to count bars. Do this by clicking “Bar” in the change sounds page and choosing one of the Voice 1-X options. X represents the number of bars you want PolyNome to count.

When the Bar fader is up in the Mixer PolyNome will replace the first count sound of each bar with the next highest number. So, if you’d set it to “Voice 1-4” it would count: 1 2 3 4 2 2 3 4 3 2 3 4 4 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 etc.

8th note time signatures

When Met 1 is set to a time signature like 5/8 or 7/8 PolyNome will use numbers for the + sound.  That means it can count up to 5 or 7 for you.

The “e” and “a” sounds will both be voiced as “and”. So you’ll hear “1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7” if you have a bar of 16th notes in 7/8 time.

If you set the sound for “+” to be something other than Auto Voice Count then PolyNome will just count the 1/4 notes.
